Lagoon
The objective of this project is to design and create a hotel room within the Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation Building. The room should be inspired by nature and incorporate artwork from a Canadian artist. The goal is to provide a unique and immersive experience for hotel guests, showcasing the beauty of nature and supporting local art.

made with AutoCAD & digitally hand rendered
Informed by the original floor plan, my design process commenced with a preliminary space planning phase, as depicted in the AutoCAD plan, where my experience guided me towards creating an optimal hotel experience. This involved incorporating essential elements such as an entry bench equipped with coat hangers and storage, a thoughtfully designed desk and vanity area, a functional closet, and strategically placed seating arrangements to ensure guest comfort and convenience.
North Elevation
Inspired by the serene blues of lagoon waters and the peacefulness they evoke, the design goal was to create a hotel room that exudes relaxation and immerses guests in a warm, flowing ambience. To achieve this, Gilian Toliver's artwork, known for its depiction of flow and movement, was selected as it harmonizes with the desired aesthetic and is created by a Toronto-based artist. The combination of warm blues, wood elements, and brass finishes further enhances the immersive experience, providing a tranquil space that evokes the sensation of gracefully gliding through water.
